Description
A hearty and comforting Norwegian Fish Soup made with fresh fish, shrimp, and creamy goodness.
Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 stalk celery, sliced
- 4 cups fish stock (or water)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 200 grams white fish (such as cod or haddock), cut into chunks
- 200 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh dill for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and celery, and sauté until soft.
- Pour in the fish stock and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and bring back to a gentle simmer.
- Add the white fish and shrimp, cooking until the fish is opaque and the shrimp is pink, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh dill.
Notes
Use fresh fish for the best flavor. Adjust the thickness of the soup with more or less cream according to preference.
