Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch cake pan.
  2. Cream together the sugar and butter in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  8. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Make sure your ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Don’t overmix the batter to avoid a tougher cake. You can add chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruits for added flavor.
