Description

Indulgent cheesy garlic bread, perfect as a side or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf Italian or French bread (about 400 g, cut in half lengthwise)
  • ½ cup salted butter (melted)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1.5 cups mozzarella (shredded)
  • ¾ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 cup parmesan (freshly grated)
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise.
  3. Place one long sheet of tin foil on a cookie sheet and lay the two halves of bread, cut side up, on the tin foil.
  4. Melt the salted butter in the microwave; add the minced garlic, red pepper flakes, and Italian seasoning, then set aside.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, mozzarella, and fresh parsley. Stir well and set aside.
  6. Spread the melted butter on both halves of the bread.
  7. Spread the mayonnaise mixture on both halves of the bread, making sure to reach the edges.
  8. Pull the ends of the foil together to cover the bread and bake for 10 minutes.
  9. After 10 minutes, remove the bread from the oven and open the tin foil.
  10. Sprinkle the grated parmesan cheese on top and return to the oven for about 5 more minutes, until the cheese is slightly golden and bubbly. Broil for a minute for a crispier crust.
  11. Let sit for a few minutes, then cut into slices and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
