Description

A hearty breakfast casserole made with eggs, sausage, bread, and cheese, perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 slices of bread, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper

  1. Cook the breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Grease a baking dish and layer the bread cubes at the bottom.
  4. Add the cooked sausage, onions, bell peppers, and half of the cheese on top of the bread.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers.
  6. Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  8. Bake uncovered for about 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top during the last 10 minutes of baking.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Customize with your favorite vegetables or cheeses. Add spicy sausage for extra flavor.
