- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Purple food coloring
- Royal icing for decoration
- Edible glitter (optional)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix flour and baking powder; gradually add to the creamed mixture alternating with milk, mixing until smooth.
- Divide the batter into two bowls. Add purple food coloring to one bowl, mixing well.
- Pour the purple batter into one cake pan and the plain batter into the other.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely.
- Layer the cakes with frosting in between and cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting.
- Create feather decorations using royal icing and apply them to the cake.
- Optionally, add edible glitter for an extra pop.
- Display and serve to elevate your celebration!
