Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Layer the thinly sliced potatoes, onion, and garlic in a greased baking dish.
- Mix the heavy cream with salt and pepper in a separate bowl.
- Pour the cream mixture over the layered vegetables.
- Sprinkle the cheese on top.
- Dot the top with butter.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Let cool slightly before serving and garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired.
