Description

A visually stunning cake inspired by Van Gogh’s painting, perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • Blue and white fondant for decoration
  • Food coloring (blue, black, white)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
  4. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool completely.
  7. For decoration, roll out the blue and white fondant and create starry night designs on the cooled cakes.
  8. Assemble the layers and enjoy your sweet starry night treat!

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or drizzle with chocolate sauce for extra flavor.
