Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 large eggs
- Blue and white fondant for decoration
- Food coloring (blue, black, white)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in vanilla.
- Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with flour. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool completely.
- For decoration, roll out the blue and white fondant and create starry night designs on the cooled cakes.
- Assemble the layers and enjoy your sweet starry night treat!
