- 16 oz elbow macaroni
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Dash of black pepper
- 2 cups warmed milk
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or 8 oz)
🔪 Short Instructions
- Cook macaroni in salted boiling water until al dente, drain.
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour; cook 3–5 minutes, stirring constantly, to form a roux.
- Add salt and pepper, then slowly add warmed milk, stirring continuously until smooth and bubbling.
