- 2 layers of vanilla cake
- 4 cups of strawberries, sliced
- 3 cups of heavy whipping cream
- 1 cup of powdered sugar
- 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
- Fresh flowers for decoration
Instructions
- Bake the cake: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare two round cake pans by greasing them. Mix the cake batter as per your favorite vanilla cake recipe and pour it evenly into both pans. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool the cake: Once baked, remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. After that, transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
- Prepare the whipped cream: In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.
- Assemble the cake: Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a generous layer of whipped cream on top, then add half of the sliced strawberries. Place the second cake layer on top and repeat the whipped cream and strawberry layers.
- Decorate: Once layered, use the remaining whipped cream to frost the sides and top of the cake. Decorate with fresh flowers and any leftover strawberry slices for a beautiful finish.
