Description

A delightful dessert featuring fresh strawberries, perfect for spring and summer gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Whipped cream for topping
  • Edible flowers for decoration (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Assemble the cake by placing one layer on a serving plate, spreading a layer of whipped cream on top, and adding sliced strawberries.
  10. Top with the second layer, more whipped cream, and strawberries, and decorate with edible flowers. Serve and enjoy!
