Description

A light and smooth strawberry mousse topped with a fresh strawberry sauce, perfect for a delightful dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin powder
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Pour 1 cup of heavy cream into a medium bowl and add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar.
  2. Beat the cream and sugar on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
  3. Set the whipped cream aside in the refrigerator.
  4. Combine 1 tablespoon of gelatin powder with 2 tablespoons of water in a small saucepan.
  5. Allow the gelatin to bloom for about 5 minutes.
  6. Heat the mixture over low heat until the gelatin dissolves completely.
  7. Cool the gelatin mixture to room temperature.
  8. Puree 1 1/2 cups of fresh strawberries in a blender until smooth.
  9. Add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice to the strawberry puree.
  10. Fold the cooled gelatin into the strawberry puree.
  11. Carefully fold the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream.
  12. Spoon the mousse into individual serving cups.
  13. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.
  14. Prepare the strawberry sauce by combining 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of sliced strawberries in a saucepan.
  15. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and strawberries soften.
  16. Cool the sauce to room temperature.
  17. Drizzle the strawberry sauce over each serving of mousse.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ripe strawberries and serve chilled. Can be made ahead of time.
