Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
  • Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
  2. Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Let cool slightly.
  3. Mix ricotta with salt, pepper, and optional honey in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.
  4. Wash and chop strawberries into small pieces. Set aside.
  5. Spread ricotta mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
  6. Spoon chopped strawberries on top and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  7. Top with fresh basil. Serve immediately.

Notes

Assemble just before serving to keep the toast crisp. Store components separately for up to 2 days.
