- 1 French baguette, sliced into ½-inch thick rounds
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup ricotta cheese (whole milk preferred)
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional)
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, finely sliced (for garnish)
- Balsamic glaze, to drizzle on top
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush with olive oil.
- Bake for 6–8 minutes, or until golden and crisp. Let cool slightly.
- Mix ricotta with salt, pepper, and optional honey in a small bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Wash and chop strawberries into small pieces. Set aside.
- Spread ricotta mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
- Spoon chopped strawberries on top and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
- Top with fresh basil. Serve immediately.
Notes
Assemble just before serving to keep the toast crisp. Store components separately for up to 2 days.
