2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar

1 ⅓ cups warm water
1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Chocolate Frosting
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3 ½ cups powdered sugar
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 teaspoons vanilla extract
4–5 tablespoons milk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 8-inch cake pans.
In a large bowl whisk flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
Add warm water, mayonnaise, and vanilla. Mix gently until smooth, do not overmix.
Divide batter between pans and bake for 28–32 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool cakes completely before frosting.
To make frosting, beat butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and vanilla. Add milk a little at a time until smooth and spreadable.
Frost the cooled cake with a thick, creamy layer on top and around the sides.
