Description

A delightful comfort food featuring layers of tender potatoes in a creamy sauce, perfect for family gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or dill) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Stir in heavy cream and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a baking dish, then pour half of the creamy sauce over them.
  5. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese over the sauce.
  6. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, sauce, and cheese.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  9. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, try using a mix of different cheeses. Ensure potatoes are sliced uniformly for even cooking.
