Description

A delightful treat combining rich flavors of almonds and honey into a crunchy, sweet pastry that is perfect for gatherings or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds, finely ground
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 package of filo pastry
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the ground almonds, honey, sugar, and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Take a sheet of filo pastry and brush it with melted butter. Place another sheet on top and brush again.
  4. Place a spoonful of the almond mixture at one end of the pastry.
  5. Fold the sides over the filling and roll it up tightly into a cigar shape.
  6. Place the cigars on a baking sheet and brush with more melted butter.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Drizzle with additional honey and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm, enjoy with tea or coffee, and consider using brown sugar for a richer flavor.
