Description

A whimsical cake designed to impress, perfect for various celebrations with a tropical flair.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups of granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Green fondant for leaves
  • Brown fondant for trunk
  • Edible glue or water for attaching decorations

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour and baking powder together. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and then alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture. Mix until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cakes cool completely before decorating.
  7. Shape the brown fondant into a trunk and the green fondant into leaves to create the palm tree on top of the cake.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is at room temperature. Test cake doneness with a toothpick.
