Description

A vibrant, multi-layered cake that showcases beautiful colors and delightful flavors, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (various colors for ombre effect)
  • Buttercream frosting
  • Edible decorations (like edible feathers or bird details)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three cake pans.
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour and baking powder in another bowl. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Divide the batter into separate bowls and add food coloring to each, creating an ombre effect.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pans, starting with the darkest shade and moving to the lightest.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Stack the cakes with buttercream frosting in between layers once cooled.
  10. Frost the outside of the cake and create a feather design with the buttercream or add edible decorations.
  11. Serve and enjoy your stunning peacock cake!

Notes

Use gel food coloring for more vibrant colors and ensure all ingredients are at room temperature for the best texture. Don’t overmix the batter.
