Description

A delightful one-pot meal featuring shrimp, sausage, potatoes, and corn, infused with flavors of Old Bay seasoning and fresh garlic, perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 24 cups water
  • 64 oz chicken broth
  • 3 large onions, quartered
  • 3 lemons, halved and squeezed
  • 12 garlic cloves, smashed
  • 1 1/4 cups Old Bay seafood seasoning
  • 2 tbsp peppercorns
  • 6 bay leaves
  • 2.5 lb red skin potatoes
  • 8 ears of corn, halved
  • 1.5 lb kielbasa or andouille sausage, sliced
  • 2 lb large shrimp, shell-on for flavor
  • 2 cups unsalted butter
  • 10 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 2/3 cup cajun seasoning
  • 3 tbsp Old Bay seafood seasoning
  • 2 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cups reserved seafood broth
  • 1/3 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 large loaf crusty French bread
  • Hot sauce (such as Crystal)
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the water and chicken broth, then bring it to a boil.
  2. Add quartered onions, halved lemons, smashed garlic cloves, Old Bay seasoning, peppercorns, and bay leaves.
  3. Next, add the red skin potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. Add the halved corn and sausage, cooking for another 10 minutes.
  5. Finally, add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. In a separate saucepan, melt the unsalted butter, then mix in the minced garlic, cajun seasoning, remaining Old Bay seasoning, onion powder, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and seafood broth.
  7. Combine this garlic butter mixture with the shrimp and vegetables, stirring to coat everything nicely.
  8. Serve hot with fresh parsley, crusty bread, hot sauce, and lemon wedges.
