Ingredients

- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in a mixing bowl.
- Add warm water and olive oil to the dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough until smooth, about 8-10 minutes.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Spread crushed tomatoes evenly over the dough.
- Top with mozzarella slices and season with salt and pepper.
- Bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
Notes
For a crispy crust, use a pizza stone and preheat it in the oven.
