Description

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. Combine the softened butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the flour and baking powder together in a separate bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until smooth.
  6. Divide the batter into smaller bowls, and add different food coloring to each bowl to create pastel shades.
  7. Pour each colored batter into the prepared cake pans, layering them as desired.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
